Countries are exempt from consular legalization in Vietnam

Consular legalization is a process in which documents issued from one country are certified by the embassy or consulate of another in order to be accepted in the second country. It is often a lengthy process that involves submitting forms, paying fees, and submitting documents to local authorities.

In Vietnam, certain countries that are exempt from the consular legalization process can avoid this lengthy process.

There are 30 countries that are exempt from consular legalization in Vietnam in total: Afghanistan, Algeria, Balan, Bulgaria, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Cuba, North Korea, Taiwan, Denmark, Netherlands, Hungary, Iraq, Italy, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Australia, France, Romania, Czech Republic, Spain, Switzerland, China, Ukraine, Slovakia, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Japan and Russia.

Documents issued by these countries will be accepted in Vietnam without the need for consular legalization.

For documents issued by other countries, the process of consular legalization in Vietnam typically involves submitting a form, paying a fee, and providing the necessary documents to a Vietnamese embassy or consulate. The documents will then be issued a stamp and returned to the applicant.

In some cases, the consular legalization process in Vietnam may be further complicated by additional requirements such as language translation or notarization. It is important to check with the embassy or consulate of the country in question in order to determine what additional requirements may be necessary.

Overall, consular legalization is an important process for international business and travel. While certain countries are exempt from the process in Vietnam, it is important to understand the requirements for consular legalization in order to ensure that the necessary documents are accepted.
