Itinerary Detail
Join a 1.5-hour hands-on pottery class at a workshop in the Old Quarter. Learn basic techniques such as shaping pots, bowls, and plates under the guidance of skilled artisans. Choose glaze colors for your product, which will be fired and completed by the workshop.
Travel by private car from Hanoi city center to Bat Trang Pottery Village (~15 km). Enjoy views of the Red River dike and surrounding suburban craft villages along the way.
Visit a glazing workshop and observe the full pottery-making process: clay preparation, shaping, drying, pre-firing, glazing, and final firing. Learn about different types of clay and traditional glazing techniques.
Explore a 200-year-old ancient kiln, the only remaining traditional wood-fired kiln in the area. Step inside to understand its unique thermal structure and firing technique.
