1. What is a Vietnam Visa on Arrival

Travellers can obtain a Visa on Arrival (Visa sticker) at any Vietnamese international airport. With the VOA, travellers must apply online ahead of time for an Approval Letter, which enables them to receive their visa upon arrival, in contrast to conventional visas that are acquired at an embassy or consulate.

PLEASE KINDLY NOTE: You will have to apply online first in order to board the flight/transportation means and enter Vietnam.

2. Who is Eligible for Vietnam VOA?

• Citizens of most countries (except a few restricted ones) are eligible for VOA.

• The VOA is available only for travelers entering Vietnam by air through international airports such as:

• Noi Bai (Hanoi)

• Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City)

• Da Nang

• Cam Ranh (Nha Trang)

• Phu Quoc

Note: This VOA is not applicable for travelers entering via land or sea borders. For landports and seaports travelers, you will need to apply for special on arrival procedures, which we highly recommend EVisa instead if applicable.

3. Step-by-Step Instructions to Obtain a Vietnam VOA

Step 1: Apply Online for an Approval Letter

• Visit a trusted visa agency

• Fill out the application form with your:

  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • Passport details

  • Date of arrival

  • Type of visa (single or multiple entry, 1 month)

• Pay the service fee online.

• Within 4 business days, you will receive the Visa Approval Letter by email.

• A completed Vietnam Entry/Exit Form (NA1) (can be downloaded online or received on arrival)

• Two passport-sized photos (4x6 cm, white background)

• Your original passport (valid for at least 6 months)

• Stamping fee in cash (USD or VND):

• $25 for a single-entry visa

• $50 for a multiple-entry visa
