From March 15, 2022, Vietnam officially restores visa exemption policy for citizens of 13 countries

The Covid-19 pandemic has been having significant impacts on the world economy in general and Vietnam in particular. We cannot deny that the tourism industry is one of the industries most heavily affected, continuously experiencing negative growth rates in recent years.

In that context, the Government's policy to restore visa exemption for citizens of 13 countries was issued as a signal of a stronger return of Vietnamese tourism along with other sectors.

Accordingly, Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP dated March 15, 2022 exempts visas for citizens of the following countries:

"Visa waiver will be applicable to nationals of the Federal Republic of Germany, The French Republic, Italian Republic, Kingdom of Spain, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland, and the Republic of Belarus with a maximum temporary residence period of 15 days from the date of entry, no matter what visa types they currently hold or their purposes of entry, on the basis of eligibility for entry in accordance with Vietnamese laws."

Note: The visa exemption policy when entering Vietnam for citizens of the 13 above countries will be implemented from March 15, 2022 to March 14, 2025 (3 years) and will be considered for extension in accordance with Vietnamese law.
